Same spirit as always — a community of people who work together on set, being decent to each other off it. 10 rules, no fine print.
Got an event or a plug you think the group would love? Run it by admins or mods first, before you post it yourself.
Healthy debate is welcome. Harsh language and negative rhetoric are not. Disagree with the take, not the person.
Everyone here has a story about being slighted, stiffed, or disrespected — but naming a person or company in a public dispute crosses into libel territory. Bring anything serious (including anything illegal) straight to admins or mods. The one exception is Client ChitChat — see the next rule.
This is the one place naming a client is allowed, and only for payment behavior — what you were owed, the agreed terms, and how long it actually took to get paid. No personal attacks, no accusations beyond payment, and nothing you can't back up. Other members can confirm if they've had the same experience, which carries more weight than a single post — but a confirmation count is other members vouching, not verification. We don't check any of it. Post accordingly.
A price, real photos of the actual item, your location, and a description. Selling a bunch of things? One consolidated post — only one listing per member gets approved at a time, so add to it rather than posting again. "OBO" or "price negotiable" still needs a base price. "Make me an offer" with no number won't be approved.
Job title, date, location, requirements, and a rate. No set rate yet? Give a range — "depends" isn't enough for people to plan around.
If one person stands to gain financially while everyone else doesn't, that's not a collaboration — call it what it is. Every post needs a clear "Paid" or "Unpaid" label.
Real shares are welcome — include the lease term, how many people are splitting the space, square footage, photos, and location. Membership-style spaces are for-profit businesses, not shares, and count as self-promotion.
Photo labs, accountants, scam warnings — these come up a lot. Have a look first. Nothing there, or think it's time for a refresh? Go ahead and ask.
We're an industry community, not a general classifieds board. Keep posts geared toward the work.
